At Scraps & Sparks, our doors stay open, and our materials stay affordable because of neighbors like you! By supporting our space, you are directly diverting usable materials from landfills and making creativity accessible to our entire community.
Here are the three wonderful ways you can get involved:
1. Donate Money
As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, we rely on the community to help us sustain and maintain our space and cover all that it takes to remain open. Monetary donations that support our general expenses are vital to our mission and keep our classes affordable for everyone.
Scraps & Sparks is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization (EIN:. No goods or services will be provided in exchange for your donation. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

- Fabric, Sewing & Fiber Arts: Bolts and yardage of fabric, fabric/wool scraps, carpet and wallpaper samples, yarn, thread/spools, ribbon, lace, trim, leather, zippers, buttons, patterns, pins, needles, crochet hooks, and knitting needles.
- Fine Art Supplies: Paints (watercolor, acrylic, oil, gouache, tempera), paint markers, brushes, chalk, pastels, fine art pens/pencils, canvases, frames, mat board, foamcore, carving tools, blocks, and brayers.
- General Craft & Hobby Supplies: Glitter, glue guns/glue, craft tape, stencils, pipe cleaners, feathers, stamps/ink pads, scrapbooking supplies, stickers, felt, candle wax, wire, doll supplies, and craft kits.
- Papercraft, Gift Wrap & Party: Scrapbook paper, envelopes, gift bags, greeting cards, wrapping paper, tissue paper, party decorations, raffia, and transfer letters.
- Vintage, Media & Collectibles: Vintage ephemera, old photographs, slides, maps, posters, stamps (used/unused), local/foreign currency, LP records, collectibles, and art/design/craft books and magazines.
- Jewelry, Watches & Metal: Jewelry (new, vintage, or broken), beads, charms, watches (including pieces, gears, and springs), keys, tins, cigar boxes, metal jar lids, can tabs, bottle caps, nails, and screws.
- Eco-Friendly Oddities & Project Blanks: film canisters, corks, plexiglass, clean plant pots, Formica/paint chip samples, architectural samples, ceramic tiles (please call ahead), and tools.
- Wood & Natural Materials: Baskets, pinecones, shells, wood rounds, dowels, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, and silk/artificial flowers.
Household Items & Textiles: Clothing, furniture, appliances, home decor, mirrors, unframed glass, kitchenware/utensils, bedding, sheets, pillows, drapes, blinds, and curtains.
Electronics & Media: Computers, computer accessories, general electronics, VHS tapes, encyclopedias, and non-craft books (unless they are vintage—1970 or older—for collage art).
Patterns: Clothing patterns, or fabric scraps/upholstery samples (unless they are clean, organized, and precut).
Unusable Supplies: Dried-up paint, dried-out markers, unlabeled paint, and any other art or craft supplies that are no longer in working condition.
Packaging & Recyclables: Styrofoam (peanuts and packing material), plastic shopping bags, pill bottles, or unwashed plastic and glass food containers.
Hazardous & Large Waste: Toxic or hazardous materials, tires, sports equipment, or anything that is not specifically art- or craft-related.
3. Donate Time
Are you passionate about creativity, sustainability, and helping the community? We would love to have you join the Spark Crew, our wonderful volunteer team! We are looking for volunteers (ages 18+) who are available during our open hours to help welcome visitors, organize the retail space, and sort through donations.
